The Blue Tongued Skink is a reptile that used to live in the wild in solitude which is why; it is a good idea to keep multiple skink reptiles in separate terrariums. You might think that your reptiles get along with each other but the simplest of issues can lead the two reptiles to fight with each other leading to dire consequences. Only the most experienced of keepers and breeders should keep two or more skink reptiles in the same terrarium.

The terrarium of your blue tongue skinks will require the adequate amount of heating, lighting and humidity. You can achieve the right about of temperature or heating in the terrarium using a heat lamp. The lamp, however, should have the right watt bulb in it and it should remain clamped because if the lamp tips over and falls, it could cause serious irregularities in the temperature of the tank.

Lighting is another important issue because the reptile likes to bask on their basking rock in the light; the best way for lighting is also heat lamp mainly because you can control the amount of lighting and heat with the heat lamp while you cannot control the heating and lighting of the terrarium through natural sources like sunlight through a window.

Humidity is very easy to attain in the tank; simply have lots of plant matter and substrate in the tank; the BTS reptile will not only love the semblance to its wild habitat but it needs the humidity produced by the substrate and plants.
